The Resort & Travel

The Journey

The Maldives is a journey — but one well worth taking.

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone traveling across the world to celebrate with us. Below you'll find details to help plan your trip, from flights to island transfers and accommodations.

COMO Cocoa Island

Our wedding will take place at COMO Cocoa Island, a small private island in the South Malé Atoll known for its turquoise lagoon, white sand beaches, and iconic overwater villas.

Guests are invited to stay on the island with us from November 6–13, 2026, where all wedding events will take place.

The resort is intimate, peaceful, and surrounded by some of the clearest water in the Maldives.

Booking Your Stay

We have reserved a limited number of villas at COMO Cocoa Island for our guests from November 6–13, 2026, with special wedding rates available for two villa categories.

The room block includes daily breakfast and dinner.

Rooms are being held for our group through March 31, 2026, or until the block is filled. We recommend reserving early, as COMO Cocoa Island is an intimate resort and villas are limited.

Below are the two villa options available through our wedding room block.

Dhoni Water Villa

Wedding Rate: $878++ per night

Inspired by the traditional Maldivian fishing boat, these iconic overwater villas sit directly above the lagoon with beautiful ocean views. Private decks and direct water access make them perfect for enjoying the island’s serene setting.

Dhoni Loft Water Villa

Wedding Rate: $1,013++ per night

A two-level overwater villa featuring a lofted sleeping space and expansive lagoon views. The elevated design creates a bright, airy retreat above the water, with generous living space to relax and unwind after a day on the island.

TRAVEL TIPS & LOGISTICS

Yes, it’s far.
But paradise rarely sits next door.

  • We have reserved a block of villas at a special rate from November 6–13, 2026 for our wedding guests.

    Rooms are held through March 31, 2026, or until full.

    Our hope is that friends and family will join us for the full week so we can enjoy as much time together in paradise as possible. That said, we’re thrilled to have you for any part of the adventure that works with your schedule.

  • Guests will fly into Velana International Airport (MLE) in Malé, the capital of the Maldives. Once you arrive, the resort team will meet you at the airport and escort you just across the street to the harbor, where your speedboat transfer to the island awaits. The process is very simple, and the resort handles all the logistics so you can relax and enjoy the journey.

  • The resort is located just a 40 minute speedboat ride from Malé, making the final part of the trip quick and scenic. Transfers are coordinated directly by the resort and scheduled around guest arrivals, ensuring a smooth and seamless journey from the airport to the island.

  • The Maldives offers visa-free entry on arrival for most nationalities, including travelers from the United States, Sweden, the UK, Canada, and the EU. Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your travel dates.

    Guests need to fill out this traveller declaration up to 96 hours before arrival: https://imuga.immigration.gov.mv/traveller/declaration

  • November is a beautiful time to visit the Maldives. Expect warm tropical temperatures around 80–86°F (27–30°C) with ocean breezes and plenty of sunshine. Brief tropical showers can occur but usually pass quickly.

  • Think light, breathable, and beach-ready. Daytime attire is relaxed resort wear, swimsuits, and sandals. Evenings are warm and perfect for elegant summer outfits. Please note that our wedding events will have specific dress codes, so be sure to check the event details when packing.

  • We’ve planned several events throughout the celebration week, each with its own dress code. Details will be listed on the Dress Code page so you can pack accordingly — think festive, elegant, and beach-appropriate, with a little sparkle encouraged.

    As the Maldives is a Muslim country, we recommend having your shoulders covered while passing through the airport or in Malé. Once on the island things are very relaxed, but a light wrap or shawl can also be useful in the evenings if there’s a slight breeze. For the wedding ceremony and dinner on the sand, we suggest flat sandals or block heels.

  • The local currency is the Maldivian Rufiyaa, but USD and credit cards are accepted everywhere.

  • Tipping is not required in the Maldives, as most resorts include a service charge in their pricing. However, many guests choose to leave small gratuities for exceptional service. USD is widely accepted, and bringing a few small bills can be helpful for things like luggage assistance or special service.

  • Because the Maldives is a remote destination, we strongly recommend travel insurance that covers international travel, cancellations, and trip interruptions. It’s a simple way to give yourself peace of mind while planning the journey.
