FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

  • We’ll be celebrating all week and would love for guests to join us from November 6–13, which is the full Celebration Week we’ve planned at the resort. Arriving on the 6th allows time to settle in, relax, and enjoy the island before the main wedding festivities begin. If your schedule allows, we recommend departing on the 13th so you don’t miss any of the fun. Of course, we completely understand if you’re only able to join us for part of the trip.

  • Due to the intimate nature of the celebration and resort capacity, attendance is by invitation only. If your invitation includes a guest, their name will be listed.

  • Children are very welcome to join the trip and enjoy the island with their families. However, the wedding celebrations themselves will be adults-only events, allowing everyone to relax and fully enjoy the festivities. If you plan to travel with children, we recommend arranging childcare during the wedding events so you can celebrate with us worry-free.

  • The resort offers incredible experiences including snorkeling, diving, paddle boarding, sunset cruises, spa treatments, yoga, and more. There will be plenty of time to relax, explore, and enjoy the beauty of the Maldives.

  • Pretty close to paradise. Expect warm tropical temperatures around 80–86°F (27–30°C), sunshine, and gentle ocean breezes. Like most tropical destinations, there can be the occasional quick rain shower, but they usually pass just as fast as they arrive — often leaving behind the most beautiful sunsets. Think swimwear by day and breezy, elegant outfits by night.

  • Absolutely not. Getting yourselves to a tiny island in the middle of the Indian Ocean is already an Olympic-level effort. Your presence is the gift. Seriously. Please don’t try to sneak a toaster into your carry-on.

  • Yes! The resort offers Wi-Fi throughout the island, so you’ll be able to stay connected — though we highly recommend taking a break from emails and enjoying paradise.

  • The resort accepts major credit cards and USD, so most purchases can easily be handled by card. Some guests like to bring a small amount of USD for occasional tipping.

  • The Maldives generally has very few mosquitoes, especially at oceanfront resorts with steady breezes. The resort also manages them carefully, but bringing a little bug spray can be helpful for evenings.

  • Absolutely. The Maldives has some of the clearest, calmest water in the world, making it perfect for swimming and snorkeling. Most areas around the resort have soft sandy lagoons, so reef shoes usually aren’t necessary. You may spot small reef sharks while snorkeling, which are completely harmless to humans and actually one of the many amazing parts of the Maldives marine life.

  • The Maldives is a Muslim country, and the capital city of Malé follows more conservative customs. While in the airport and if you spend time in the city, it’s respectful to dress modestly — covering shoulders and knees is recommended. Once you arrive at the resort island, however, the atmosphere is relaxed and typical beach resort attire is completely fine — swimsuits, sundresses, linen, and sandals are all perfect.

  • The official language of the Maldives is Dhivehi, but English is widely spoken, especially at resorts, hotels, and the airport. At the resort you’ll have no trouble communicating with staff, concierge, and guides in English. Because the Maldives is such an international destination, many staff members also speak several other languages including Italian, French, German, Spanish, and more.
